Organic Tech
Mainstream tech has become the fast food of the digital ecosystem. Make healthier choices when it comes to the technology you use.
You go to the grocery store. Maybe you choose to buy the organic fruit because you are worried about the use of pesticides or other environmental impacts in how the produce is grown. I challenge you to consider: is it worth taking that same critical eye to your choice of tech?
How does the tech you use make use of your data? How is it produced? What do those who produce it value and what effects do these tools have on the Internet as an ecosystem?
Convenient? Yes. Cheap? Yup. Good for those who consume them? Not so much...
This is the problem when shareholders and profit are the primary drivers for decision-making.
Now it's time for the shameless plug. That's why I'm proud to be creating products that are a part of the Mozilla family. Where we measure success based on the positive impact our projects and products have in the world. What do we consider positive impact? You can find that in the Mozilla Manifesto.

Our software is open source, built by communities of our users and activists who write code alongside us. The way we create software is in concert with our stakeholders. Our users aren't the product, they are our partners.
So when you think about what tech you want to use - choose organic, farm-fresh tech. π
